Isabel Sola , Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, won the Hipra Prize from the Royal Academy of Doctors for her doctoral thesis on coronavirus protection strategies. She has studied coronavirus for over 25 years and is the author of over 60 articles in international journals in the field of virology and biomedicine. She is currently co-director, together with Dr. Luis Enjuanes, of the Coronavirus Laboratory of the National Center for Biotechnology of the Superior Council for Scientific Research (CNB-CSIC) in which they study the pathogenicity mechanisms of this virus with the aim of developing vaccines and identifying antivirals, and is currently developing, together with his team, his own vaccine against Covid-19. He is one of the people in Spain who knows the most about coronaviruses and its vaccines.
