Luis Enjuanes is a CSIC research professor at the National Center for Biotechnology, director of the coronavirus group, and an international member of the US National Academy of Sciences. He works in the field of virology for over 40 years, including 36 years in coronavirus, has been distinguished twice and in 2003 received the Second Prize with Special Distinction in "La Primera Competición de Patents Madrid", for the patent "Viral vectors derived from Infectious coronavirus cDNA clones and their applications".
