Martin Kulldorff earned his BS in mathematical statistics from Umeå University in Sweden, and his Ph.D. in operational research from Cornell University.

He is currently a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and a biostatistician and epidemiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

One of his research areas focuses on the development and application of new disease surveillance methods for post-marketing surveillance of drugs and vaccines and for the early detection and monitoring of infectious disease outbreaks.
