Pedro Madureira has a degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) of the same university.

He is currently co-founder and CSO of Immunethep, a company that is developing antibacterial immunotherapies and the SILBA vaccine against Covid-19.
